Devious Journal Entry

Sun Dec 6, 2009, 7:19 AM
DC Anime Club's First Club Meeting of the year will be Saturday January 2,2010 at the Martin Luthur King,Jr Memorial Library 901 G St NW Washington,DC 20001 in Room A5 on the A Level of the Library.
Regular Line/ Anime Swap Meet.

Anime Swap Meet:
----------------------

1. Description: A swap meet is were people 'meet' to 'swap' their unwanted items for something else they may want - without paying for anything. The focus will be on anime, manga, comic, and video game related items.

2. layout: there will be tables lined up for people to display their items. there should be enough space on the table so that other people's things dont blend together, creating confusion as to who owns what.

perhaps we can have a 18+ section for people that have hentai, yaoi, or other perverted items that they want to trade. just rope off or cover the section with a sheet.

3. What to swap: any anime, manga, and video game related items:

DVDs/VHS and boxsets
Manga, comics, doujinshis
video games
gaming systems and handhelds, controllers, and other accessories
posters, wall scrolls, pictures, fan art
figures, model kits
T-shirts, bags, lolita, cosplay clothes and accessories, pins/buttons, or any type of geek-wear.
trading car games - pokemon, yu gi oh, bleach, DBZ, magic, etc
.......... anything else not listed here that's fits the criteria

4. Rules and procedure of the swap meet:

One hour only.

All people who want to participate in the swap meet must bring things to swap. Everyone needs to sign in, so that there's a list of people who are participating. Each person will be given a number, which they will place next to their displayed items on the table.

There should be a designated person to record all the items that each person brought with them - which will help with disputes, lost, or stolen items.

No one is allowed to take an item without the consent of the owner of that item. I'm thinking that everyone participating in the swap meet should be given a slip of paper. As people walk around looking at the items, when they see something they want they'll write it down on the slip and the owner will sign/initial - which will confirm the transaction.

people are encouraged to bargin and haggle for what they want - but no fighting.

people can offer a trade any way they like. for example: someone can offer a poster, 2 manga books, and a t-shirt for 2 video games. Another offer could be a boxset of an anime for a nintendo DS.

If there is an 18+ section, then trading of these items must be done among people who are 18 and over.

people participating should come early so there's plenty of time for them to set up and check in.

music should play during the time of the swap.

--------------------------------------

these rules are all tentative. let me know which ones work and which don't.
